OHS Assistant, Vienna

About the role We are seeking an enthusiastic and diligent OHS Assistant to join our team at Victorian Container Management P/L (VCM) in Altona North, Victoria. This full‑time position will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our workplace health and safety practices across our warehousing and logistics operations.

What you'll be doing

Assisting the OHS Manager in the implementation and monitoring of our OHS management system

Conducting regular workplace inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards

Providing support in the development and delivery of OHS training for employees

Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to workplace incidents, hazards and corrective actions

Collaborating with team members to continuously improve our OHS practices and promote a strong safety culture

Ensuring compliance with all relevant workplace health and safety legislation and regulations

What we're looking for

Relevant qualifications or experience in occupational health and safety, preferably within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industries

Strong attention to detail and an understanding of OHS risk assessment and control methods

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees at all levels

Proficiency in the use of OHS management software and data analysis tools

A proactive, problem‑solving mindset and a genuine commitment to workplace safety
