About the Role This is a hands-on, high-volume role responsible for managing customer relationships and the logistical movement of perishable commodities.

You will oversee end-to-end sea freight shipments, including documentation and completion from start to finish—ensuring accuracy, integrity, and deadlines are consistently met through strong organisational capability.

This role operates on a rostered schedule— flexibility with working hours is essential.

As the senior team member, you’ll also act as the knowledge hub, sharing expertise, supporting others, and helping grow team capability.

You’ll deliver an efficient, reliable service to customers, ensuring all food safety and quality procedures are followed in line with J.H. Leavy&Co’s high standards of professionalism and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate end-to-end perishable import and export shipments (sea freight focus)

Manage documentation, compliance, and regulatory requirements

Build and maintain strong customer relationships

Monitor shipment timelines and proactively resolve delays/issues

Liaise with shipping lines, customs brokers, and stakeholders

Maintain accurate data in CargoWise and EdiSoft systems

Ensure food safety and quality requirements are consistently met

Investigate and resolve discrepancies quickly and effectively

Support, guide, and develop team members through knowledge sharing

What You Bring

Proven experience in perishable import/export operations (sea freight)

Strong working knowledge of CargoWise and EdiSoft (essential)

Excellent organisational and time management skills— able to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Ability to maintain accuracy under pressure in a busy environment

Willingness to work rostered hours with flexibility across shifts

Confident communicator with strong customer focus

A proactive mindset with a passion for mentoring and supporting others
