Commercial Finance Superintendent - FIFO About the Client:

Operating in a high‑volume, low‑margin and capital‑intensive environment, the business is at a pivotal point in its evolution.Following a period of rapid growth and acquisition, it is now entering a critical phase of maturity, with finance being repositioned from a traditionally transactional function to a more strategic, commercially aligned capability.

About the Opportunity: This newly created role presents a rare opportunity for a finance leader to step into a high‑impact, CFO‑track position within a large and complex organisation undergoing significant transformation. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead the finance function and drive a broad transformation agenda. This includes evolving the team from a transactional, process‑heavy environmentinto a more structured, efficient and commercially aligned function, while strengthening the connection between finance and operations. It is a build‑, evolve‑ and influence‑position suited to someone looking to step beyond traditional Financial Controller responsibilities and make a genuine impact.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the CFO and senior leadership team to understand business priorities and build strong stakeholder relationships.

Lead the development and delivery of a finance transformation roadmap across systems, processes and team capability.

Drive improvements in month‑end close, financial discipline and controls.

Lead ERP optimisation, system integration and automation initiatives, including cloud‑based and AI‑enabled tools.

Build team capability while supporting a shift toward business partnering and stronger operational alignment.

About you You are a qualified and experienced Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or equivalent within a medium to large services business. Your background includes high‑volume, low‑margin, capital‑intensive environments, with exposure to multi‑site operations and complex reporting structures. You bring the strategic acumen, resilience and agility to lead a multi‑year finance transformation while maintaining accountability for reporting, compliance and risk. You are an operationally focused finance leader who thrives in complex, evolving environments.

You’re grounded, hands‑on and comfortable operating across all levels of the business.
